Asphalt up to heaven
Can you build me a colony of grass and leaves? Split poison ivy – rub it back and forth between us. Will you be my queen when we land on this alien world? Jump up into oblivion. Awkward evangelization of the sun and moon. Stars laden heavy with infinity. Chops land on swollen ax-heads. Drifting apart by the limitations we set on ourselves. We could rule the universe with our love. Lop-sided ladder-men lifting garlands against the sky. Shovel us up into the chakras. Licking my skin with razors. Elements stripped of elegance. Chocolate hens laying dogs’ eggs. Asphalt up to heaven.
