Solid Leaves
The snakes of Christmas come to catch me. Rocks hoisted up and balanced on top of flag poles and teepees. Elements of things we took from each other and gave back tenfold. You came into my heart like lightning.
Ice melt as we held it. Blood flowered out around us. Lost pits of volcano stars. Magic beams penetrating our hearts. It’s been too long since we touched. Solid ground. Lost archives. Cities walled up to prevent rain and barbarian invasions. You’re sleeping on my couch and I’m sleeping under it. Solid leaves of chocolate float down from the sky.
