Steely Dan is awesome. I am just catching up on a little listening with them before I go to bed, and the song “Josie” just came on, and there’s this totally great line in it “Throw down the jam ’til the girls say when.” Anyway, yeah, they rule, because their music is bizarre and ornate. What’s that word - baroque! Yeah, they are baroque, but not in an annoying progressive rock way. They are so superbly weird and good.
