Just reading Mike Oliver’s latest journal entries…
(1) Mike points out an article he saw in the Washington post on the “new science” called synchrony. Basically, from what I’m gathering from this article, its about how complex biological (and even non-biological systems) spontaneously act in unison. This is something I wrote about a week or two back, and is explained readily by Rupert Sheldrake’s concept of morphic fields, and morphic resonance. Although, in my research, I have found those concepts to be extremely interesting, but, let’s say, somewhat amorphous. Noone’s really pinning them down. Someone ought to. They are cool.
(2) I like your explanation of why you’re going to law school. I think its a good one and is completely well thought out and intentioned.
(3) Don’t worry about giving me any kind of analysis on what I wrote. You can if you like, I just want more to see that people have a response to it, any response is fine.
(4) What asshole told you that shit about dating a white woman? You should have punched them in the nuts.
Not to Mike
Shit! It’s almost midnight and I haven’t started on the actual writing of this next article. There’s no sense in forcing it, but I’m gonna still try and see if I can hash it out tonight. I have developed a new technique for writing these articles that consists of the following steps:
(1) Do a few hours of online research. Start off at a random point in the associative web of what I want to look at/talk about, and then just see where it takes me, and run off with any interesting points I find. Meanwhile, dump interesting quotes and links into a big messy Word document.
(2) Take a little time off to talk to somebody, lately Doug, about what I want to say, and why, and how to say it.
(3) Make a nice big chaotic associative diagram with boxes and lines and idea clusters, and color code them, and rearrange them until I’m satisfied.
(4) Start writing, and don’t stop till you get enough.
OKAY! ENOUGH STALLING! BACK TO WORK!
