E.S.P. Club Ideas

A week or two ago, Fishfry (aka Rebecca) talked about how when she was in 7th grade, she formed some sort of E.S.P. club with a couple friends, and they did a few experiments, and had membership cards which were rocks. Anyway, I thought it seemed like a delightful idea, and suggested we reconvene this E.S.P. club, and come up with a starting project. I just thought of one thats pretty neat I think. I was gonna email it to her, but decided to just post it here, in the hopes that all this talk of E.S.P. clubs would pique other people’s interest as well.

Oh, and by the way, I move that we have the acronym in E.S.P. club stand for “Extremely Special People.” Okay, so here’s my idea:

it involves writing each other a reasonably detailed horoscope for an upcoming period of time. like a week or something, and then, at the conclusion of that time, looking back over it, and letting the other person know what of it came true, if any.

another idea correlated to that might be to also write a reverse horoscope, for the same amount of time, but going into the past. and then you can make notes about what did and didnt come true already, as well as compare those “predictions” to the ones that you were made for you for the upcoming time period, and see if the reverse horoscope bears any relevance to the upcoming time period as well.

i think this is a pretty neat starting idea, cause its all about tricking your mind out of ordinary time sequences or something like that. Getting you to think in a less linear time structure, and maybe more of a nodal one. Uhhhh… what do you think?

Right, and if there are multiple participants, like, say, more than two, we could each write one future horoscope and one past horoscope, and then put those in a pool, and everyone has to look at the ones that everyone else wrote, and think about how they apply or dont apply to them.

Or! None of this could happen, and I’m just losing my mind. In any case, it sure is fun.

UPDATE!

Not to disappoint anybody, but I have to withdraw from the ESP club temporarily. I have to focus on some mental “me time” cause I can feel some weird deep thoughts coming on that I need to work out in the dark and solitude. ESP club may happen later though. Ill keep you posted
