This reminds me of how I’ve heard stories about back in the day, they had special wards or something where they put people they weren’t sure were dead yet, so that they didnt accidentally bury them alive. And they would attach like a bell to them or something, so that if they moved around, people would see they were still alive. I dont know if thats really true though, or where I read it.
