Found a review on the Onion of a book I might want to read, called The Electric Meme. It’s supposedly positing a neurological electrical model for memes, which noone else is really doing, from what I’m gathering. Step in the right direction I think, but still incomplete. While reading this, I was reminded once again of that article I read a while back, where they were talking about a folklorist as being a person who can understand and interpret how knowledge is embedded in cultural artifacts. And that in turn sparks the connection of Philip K. Dick’s idea of the plasmate. This chain is starting to work together in my mind, but is not quite there yet. Almost. Almost. Just have to hook them all together, plus with archetypes and complexes, and then BOOM! There you have it.
