Found a couple cool robot article links through the Smart Mobs blog. One is about a project attempting to build a conscious robot, and they have five axioms about what consciousness is, and how will they know when they succeeded. I think they won’t succeed if those are their axioms, because they represent a poor understanding of the workings of consciousness, in my opinion. But it sounds like a fun project. Another article is about how they want to market a robot suit in Japan that will help old and disabled people walk around and do stuff. This sounds a lot like that shitty tv show, M.A.N.T.I.S.. I wish I could remember what that acronym stood for. It was something hugely hilarious. Oh, and here’s another neat blog about pervasive computing, called SentientWave.
