Twins

Aha! A few weeks ago, I came across mention of an ancient legend that Jesus had a twin brother, and was surprised that I had never heard that before. This Matrix article just filled it in for me: “In fact, the name Thomas means ‘the Twin,’ and in ancient Christian legend he is Jesus’ twin brother.” So, I’m just filling in the blanks here, but I bet the legend says something to the effect of Thomas is the flesh and blood son of Joseph, while Jesus is the Son of God, although they share the same mother. Cause that’s frequently the way the mythical twins thing works, is that one is divine, and one earthly. Also, this makes the whole “Doubting Thomas” thing get cast in a new light, because they are brothers, and after the Resurrection, the only way for Thomas, the Earthly Brother, to perceive Jesus in his completely Divine state, is to do so according to the physical interaction of their bodies, ie Thomas’ touching Jesus’ wounds. Wow! That’s great! Why did they remove that from regular Christianity? Its way cool.
