I just wanted to comment on my friend Erin’s latest post over at Thius Ar. Since he doesn’t have a commenting system (i can hook one up for you, if you want, but i dont recommend mine), I thought I’d toss it in here, plus, it’s entirely relevant to the sorts of things that I like to talk about.
Anyway, the whole point of his post is that what if the seemingly meaningless unconnected things, events and people in our daily lives are actually as purposeful and laden with meaning as are the things, events and people which occur to us in our dreams. The idea is that your mind creates the things in your dreams to communicate and balance energy, something like that, but what if, somehow, the same thing happens in every day life.
I don’t know if you realize it or not Erin, but that’s the basis for a whole lot of shit, and schools of thought, and is something I personally subscribe to on a very very deep level. I often find myself looking around at where I’m at or what I’m doing, or who I’m with, or just little things, and I think, what the hell am I doing here? How did this all happen? This can’t just be random, you know. It’s like you are moving and doing and being without realizing that this is all your doing. You created what’s around you, and just like that, you can change it. I don’t necessarily know how to communicate the steps that you can take to reveal the meaning of all the little shit, but you can totally do it. It’s right there. It’s all around you. You just have to reach out your hand and be ready for it.
I don’t know if you already ready that article I wrote sort of about this, “God-mode” but if you did, I’d like to hear what you thought of it. You should also read up on Jung’s ideas about synchronicity (like The Police song - meaningful chance) and his ideas about the psychoid level of the mind, which is sort of like the interface region between mind and matter, through which he believed they can influence each other. It’s pretty cool shit.
