Back underground

An article from Zeropaid about how the file-trading cradowns are forcing people to adapt software to run more cleverly and efficiently, to evade the bad guys. They talk about darknets (private networks made up solely of people you know) and also Freenet, which is something I’ve looked into a bunch of times, but its still too klunky to me to be useful. It’s supposed to be totally anonymous.

Seems to me like a lot of people forget the good old days when I first started downloading music. You would find lists of open FTP sites, and then log in, upload a couple things to establish “credit” and then download away. I guess the thing now though is that little kids and grandma’s can do it, really simply, and when subversive tech comes out in the open like that, everybody starts pooping in their pants.
