Can-I-bus?
Just found this crock-o-shit article supposedly trying to link cannabis use with the first outbreak of schizophrenia in individuals who develop schizophrenia. Crap! I don’t believe it for a second. I’m sure this study was funded by the enemy, because at the end they have the “doctor” saying that people shouldn’t use cannabis to “self-medicate” for schizophrenia. When, on the other hand, people should do whatever they can to self-medicate, if they find that it works. It’s a lot fucking safer than those fucking horrendous evil anti-psychotics they would dose you up with.
Another article on that same site about some alternative drug I’ve never heard of called “Angel’s Trumpets,” which they basically paint to be crazy and dangerous as hell. Admittedly, I don’t know anything about the drug (although I will remedy that shortly), but this article is sheer scare tactics; it’s about how a teenager in Germany supposedly drank tea infused with this plant, and then went out into his mother’s garden and use garden shears to cut out his tongue and penis.
I mean, sure, that sounds pretty crazy, right? But let’s look at this for a second… The first thing that pops into my mind is the myth of Oedipus, who, upon finding out that he unwittingly fucked his mom gouged out both of his eyes as self-punishment. Another thing that springs to mind is like monks and shit who whip themselves or mutilate themselves to get closer to god.
What I’m getting at here, is that drugs open you up to mythic consciousness, and all the good and bad results which that entails for ordinary waking life.
Instead of this sort of ridiculous scare tactic shit, I would like to see them delve deeper into what prompted the boy to do this. What was going on in his life, what was he thinking about, what had he done, done wrong, or not done, that some part of him saw fit to remove his tongue and penis to make sure it never happened again, or that he would never forget? What was his dreaming/unconscious mind trying to do or say to/through this?
Maybe some part of him needed this in order to radically shift his mind, and how it connects to the universe. And we can’t go around judging dream logic based on ordinary waking life. And we should also be wary when people try to foist that bait-and-switch tactic on us. Ultimately, it’s why drugs are dangerous to governments and establishments: that they introduce deeper symbolic action into a world which is governed by a set of much more rigid rules.
Another element to consider in all this is that maybe the dude just wasn’t prepared to trip that hard, and didn’t know how to handle it, and then things just went crazy, and spiraled out of control. People need to acknowledge the fact that among certain individuals, there lies the deep need to engage in an exploration of their consciousness. Most people don’t have any training or knowledge of how to do this, and how to do it safely. It’s like, all throughout human history, people have used this sort of shit to explore, but most had the corresponding body of knowledge and the rituals passed onto them as well, whereas most people today have none of that, and are reduced to going it alone into the depths.
