Fisher King

This article on the Fisher King is really damn good. The part I am reading right now is about how Perceval winds up at the castle of the Fisher King, and sees the procession with the maiden carrying the Grail, but doesn’t say anything or ask any questions. If he had asked “Whom does the Grail serve?” He would have healed the crippled Fisher King, and restored the wasteland of his kingdom to life. There is a quote about Perceval’s failure from the article that I wanted to pop in here: “Furthermore, he vows never to spend two nights at the same place or evade any danger until he has discovered why the lance bleeds and whom the Grail serves. He spends the next five years wandering in search of answers, yet they are far and few between.” Anyway, it turns out later on the story that Perceval is actually the grandson of the Fisher King, and thus the rightful heir to his kingdom.
