I just remembered a name from a dream that I had. It was a girl named “Elaine Ata” which I looked up on Google with no results. None on Friendster neither. That would have been weird if she was a real person, and like lived down the street from me or something. I would pretty much be flipping out, actually. Hm, according to everyone’s favorite name meaning site, Elaine is the Old French form of Helen, and in Arthurian legend is the woman who bears Lancelot a son, Galahad. And Helen in Greek mythology is “the face that launched a thousand ships”, that is, her capture started the Trojan War.
I also looked up “Ata” on this site, and its Turkish for “ancestor” which seems oddly appropriate. In fact, I feel like this whole name and the meanings surrounding it seem weirdly significant.
In the dream, she was a woman who I met somewhere, and there was this big thing about me asking her what her name was, cause like I was supposed to know it, but had forgotten it or something like that. And she told me her last name first, or else I remembered it, one of those two. And she was extremely beautiful.
There was some part where we were looking at like these cool old photos of Bob Dylan or something, and then she told me that those clothes were ready to be worn again. That is, the clothes represented some sort of a role that I was supposed to take up. And that when I was able to wear these clothes, I would be able to go wherever with her at my side. And like I knew I was supposed to, but I could feel my friends looking at me, laughing sort of behind me over the whole idea. And then she said something about how I had to be able to do it without them laughing at me, ie I had to believe in myself and make it happen. And then I said something to the effect of it being the challenge of a lifetime.
Then I woke up and it seemed extremely significant and relevant. I fell back to sleep and forgot about it for a few hours, and then got up today around 1:00pm, and suddenly her name popped back into my head, Elaine Ata.
