Another account of a called-off duel between a David Caldwell and a Charles Fisher in 1833. There seems to have been a misunderstanding resulting from some muttered comments between the two. They were supposed to fight with sabres (broad-swords), at the behest of Mr. Fisher, but Mr. Caldwell refused, since he had no skill with the weapon. In the end, the only weapons utilized were angry yet formal correspondences.
There seems to have existed a Capt. Fisher Caldwell of Scotland around 1873, whose daughter had his photo in some book or something.
