Livelihood

I really struggled over how to spell that for a while when I was writing that last post, “livelihood”. It just looks wrong. I looked it up, and that’s it, but I’m still not convinced. I also tried out “liveliehood” but that looks even more wrong.

Oh, and I just wanted to post as, an addendum, a comment about this made on Metafilter which I think is extremely important…

considering the possibility however, i think it’s a bad move. any asshole can make a non-blog website that contains just as much crap as one that uses blogging software. plus this means that if you’re a legitimate source of information on a particular subject you can’t use blogging software to make updating easier for fear of being removed from the main index. if one were an art history expert one doesn’t (and shouldn’t) have to be a computer expert to have an “authoritative” website about art history.

Oh right, I forgot to mention (during my ranting below) that the whole thing is that they were talking about how Google may ad a tab at the top which allows you to search blogs exclusively, and you can include it or exclude it in your main search results. That’s cool with me if it’s optional. But if they are going to do that, I would also like to see them give me the option to filter out search results which contain government propaganda, corporate bullshit, and people who fucking suck. Can they make me a tab for that?
