Jupiter in the 3rd house
I don’t know if this link will work, but I didn’t sign in or anything, so maybe it will for you. It’s my natal chart.
I was looking around for more info on Jupiter in the 3rd house, and found a good source for stuff from different authors, including the full text of that one from Howard Sasportas, which is I think just an uncanny representation of me.
I’m gonna go through and pick out choice quotes from the others…
- At best, scholarship, lecturing, or writing along philosophical, sociological, or idealistic lines may come naturally. In any case, knowledge can be virtually the ‘great goal’ of life for these people, and sharing it with others may be felt as absolutely imperative for a fulfilling life.
- Jupiter in the third house puts a double emphasis on the mind, curiosity, thought processes, consciousness and intellect. There is likely to be a real zest for learning facts and information.
- The person with Jupiter in the third house may not know when to quit, or may have great difficulty discerning what is important and what is merely trivial. To such an individual, everything is important - the little tidbits of information, news, gossip, and useless facts all are.
- He can be cheerfully and enthusiastically generous in passing along information, and often picks up new ideas from normal, everyday conversation. He may thoroughly enjoy playing with them in his mind, and may tell everyone he meets about his discovery. He can be witty and very entertaining. He is, however, also particularly prone to exaggeration, which may make others think of him as ridiculous. He may also sound pompous or preachy when he speaks, or write in afloewry, overly lengthy style, so that others find him a bore or aggravating. He could be far too blunt, so that he recklessly and loudly talks about issues which others find delicate; or he could bring up matters others would rather were kept private.
- …he expects himself to be better and faster than anyone else. Conversely, he may expect others to learn easily and quickly, and may be derisive with them if they cannot keep up to his pace.
- He may expect that when he finally knows everything there is to know, he will experience ultimate fulfilment.
- This is an especially ruthless combination, and it may indicate an individual who requires constant intellectual stimulation and many changes of scene. He may like to take many short trips to keep his mind occupied with new material. He may travel in pursuit of knowledge. He will need freedom of movement and may be happiest if his career requires him to travel.
- This is also a position which tends to make use of communications media to educate the public.
- Those with Jupiter in this house have a considerable appetite for collecting data from far-flung sources so as to arrive at general conclusions, and tend to be less interested in facts than in the speculations to which these lead.
- …words themselves may be a means of exploration; and there is frequently an ability to convey more than the literal meaning of words through the use of symbolism.
- The third house Jupiter has a flair for getting across a message… to Jupiter, literal truth is not necessarily the point… can make a convincing liar, trapped by the impressive sound of his or her own words.
- The mind is easily distracted into philosophical backwaters; into ideas, dreams, ideals; and away from the cold pursuit of facts, figures, grade averages, etc., that lead to goals and diplomas. The mind is expansive, concerned with overall truths, not with detail.
Yeah, that’s the best of the quotes. I think the Sasportas one is worth reading in it’s entirety, although I won’t paste it in here.
