The Chronicles of Working from Home, Volume V

I just got the call.

Work-from-Home Week 2003 has officially come to an abrupt end.

My boss just called and asked if I could come in tomorrow, cause they need me there to answer phones while the other guy is busy doing shipping/orders and stuff.

I’m bummed.

I was really starting to enjoy and make good use of Work-from-Home Week 2003. I was tearing it up with all these lectures, and here it is, 10:00pm at night, and I was fucking working! Not on my own stuff, either! I was doing my actual real work. But alas, our angry, confused and impatient customers need me to soothe their anxieties, to be that calm available on the other side of the phone. Ah, I must face my destiny… Goodbye, Work-from-Home Week 2003! We had only just begun to know one another, and now we must part. Let it be a joyous parting, in the hopes that someday we’ll be together again!

PS. Now, I will also have to shave this hideous scraggly Work-from-Home Week 2003 beard that I was working on. I don’t mind going to the bodega on the corner to buy a Snickers looking like this, but I can’t face my adoring public on the subways and streets of NYC looking like an unshaven maniac.
