This morning when I was waiting for the subway, three subway workers came down and started emptying out this huge box full of garbage bags across on the opposite platform. One rat ran out really fast when they first opened the box. Then they started slinging these bags around, and pulled out this cart full of garbage, and were dumping it out, and a rat was in it, and popped out, and one of the garbage dudes flipped out and started dancing around and stomping like crazy, and the rat was dodging and running, and finally! A direct hit! The rat stops moving and is upside down, and the guy fucking KICKS it really hard across the gulf between the two platforms - almost landing it right on our platform! It was insane! All these people on my side freaked out and took a bunch of huge steps backwards, but I just started laughing. I wish it HAD landed on our side, cause I woulda kicked it back over, and we could have started some kind of new subway rat-kicking sport. It seemed like fun.
