Cross-eyed

So last night, Doug and Bret and I went down to Pianos in SoHo to see that screening of the new David Cross DVD. It was pretty fun, although I wouldn’t buy the DVD or anything. It’s not even close to as funny as the actual stand-up CD that he has. Most of the movie is like backstage hijinks and clips of drunk/high people babbling. There are some genius moments in it, surely, but its real light on the stand-up stuff. It was cool though, cause at the end David Cross popped out of the back from somewhere. Doug got his autograph or something, and then he talked for a few minutes, some of which was funny, but it never really broke into a full-tilt standup routine. Good time though. Plus it was all free, and pretty spur-of-the-moment, so it’s always satisfying when last minute decisions work out like that.

After that, Doug and Bret skeedaddled back to Baltimore, and I read for a little but then went to sleep early. It was a long four days but a really good visit having them here all in all. Just a lot of good conversations, drinking and hanging out. I haven’t drank that much in a long time. It was like olden days almost. Except not quite. Drinking here is completely different than drinking in Baltimore. It’s a “different beast” to quote from that DVD last night.

Anyway, gotta try and swing back into my normal routine now. Get back to doing some work and reading and shit. Booyah! Great times though everybody, thanks for coming.
