A matter of time
I was just looking over the visitation statistics for this journal, and they are pretty good. So far, at only 2:00pm on a Tuesday, 50 people have visited this site. I find that pretty amazing, and it’s unusual also, since the number doesn’t usually get that high till much later in the day or evening. Even better than that though is that the “Average Visit Length” is a WHOPPING 8 minutes and 10 seconds! That’s totally shocking! That means that most people who come here don’t just look at the page and then make a “what the hell is this crap?” face and then run away. Or wait, maybe it does mean that (yeah, now that I look at the stats in another view, plenty of people do just that), but that there are other people who are staying here a really long time and actually reading stuff. Or else, they are just leaving their browser open. Cause I’m registering some visit lengths like 25:48, 39:46, 62:46, 19:28, 161:56. Thats crazy, I actually refuse to believe that anyone is looking at this site for 161 minutes straight. Incredible. And if they are, how come y’all aren’t leaving me notes and messages? Some are actually, and that’s fun, and I’ll write back soon, I promise. Anyway, fun stuff.
UPDATE!
Interesting, I was just looking over my stats in more detail and it seems like about 60-70% of the people who are spending 20 minutes to an hour looking at my journal are coming from the referral URL of my main site, timboucher.com, which is interesting. I don’t have tracking set up there, but maybe I should. I wonder how many people are hitting the site overall, across all its pages… but my host doesn’t offer that for this cheaper hosting program. Maybe I should upgrade. Ha, like I have money for that.
