Ask Dr. Stupid
Just wanted to reply to a comment posted by Kelly Computer a day or two ago. It’s buried way down, so I’m sure if she will check it. Plus it’s a fun topic, so I thought it would be nice to bring it into the light…

I came to your site to ask Tim to comment on psychic phenomena associated with technology. for example, how does technology facilitate humans to cross the boundaries of time and space… stories you have heard, etc.
Kelly… ive been trying to think of good stuff to look at about that topic. the only thing i can really think of is this guy name Rupert Sheldrake, who does research involved in like how come you know who it is before you pick up the phone when your friend calls you. (i dont mean caller ID) stuff like that. hes really interesting and fun, and is all about grassroots amateur science, which i like.
On the more occult side, you might want to look into the practice of scrying wherein people try to psychically see stuff that’s happening elsewhere. There is definitely a specific type of technology which goes into that, like crystal balls, black mirros, stuff like that. You might be able to draw some sorts of parallels between that and like webcams or reality TV or something. I don’t know. Actually, I remember reading somewhere recently some thing on people using turned off computer monitors as scrying surfaces. It may have been a joke (don’t remember), but still, the concept is there.
It’s a fun topic to try and research actually. I’ll keep it on the backburner and add it to my journal any time I find anything like that in the future.
