I want to check out this book, Poet in New York, by Federico Garcia Lorca, who I don’t know anything about except for a quote in a story on Oblivio.
- “To see you naked is to remember the earth, the smooth earth,
swept clean of horses.”
And also, he has an excellent quote from Jacob Boehme,
- “Whatever the self describes, describes the self”
That one is particularly fantastic. Apparently he has a collection of a million and one fantastic quotes. Huzzah!
Plus a sort of related one from Anais Nin, culled from the archives of different site:
- “Things aren’t the way they are, they’re the way you are.”
In fact, I like these last two ones so much that I’m gonna immortalize them ….
