I just sent myself a BCC of an email so that I could have a record of it for later on, and I realized unfortunately that there is a little link at the bottom of it which is added in automatically by hotmail which says:
- Groove on the latest from the hot new rock groups! Get downloads, videos, and more here.
How cheesy is that? Who talks like that? It’s such a great example of when corporations try to appropriate “hip” usage of language and culture. It links to MSN Special - Wired for Music, which itself is littered with AIRFORCE.com ads. Maybe it’s all to suggest that if you’re the kind of weirdo that is drawn in by generic language like “groove on the latest…” then you must be easily lead, and hence a great candidate for military service.
Or I could be over-analyzing it. I’m known to do that.
