Aron turned me on to this old-timey illustrator named Kay Nielsen, who is sort of like Aubrey Beardsley, but different, and in some ways better, I think. You should check out these images on this site. They are all fantastic. I wish I had a book of this stuff.
This Edmund Dulac guy is real cool too.
Man, these are all so great. I want to look at these more closely and try to do some stuff that emulates this sort of style crossed with the sort of shit that I do. I think that would be “the hotness.”
