Flying carpet helmets
Well that was really strange. I just got a call at the office here, where the person asked for me by name. I responded that it was me, and they said something like “Hi, this is John Dee. I was wondering if you had any helmets for flying carpets.” I responded that I didn’t know what they meant, and then they clarified “Like in the Middle East. If I fall off my carpet.” And I was like “Oh… uh…” I didn’t know what to say. Then we both had an awkward laugh and he said “I’m just trying to break up the tedium of your day.” And I replied, “I appreciate it.” And that was that. No further explanation, or anything. Truly bizarre.
I’m assuming that John Dee is a reference to the magician of the same name from back in the day. And I’m gathering that it’s someone who reads my site and knows where I work, since they called and asked specifically for me, mentioning John Dee, and flying carpets. And the way this person was talking made it seem like they knew me. But I didn’t recognize their voice.
Or not. I don’t fucking know. Was it you? Did you call me? Are you John Dee? Way to confuse me, whoever you are.
