Looking over old notes
I wrote this down last year when I was researching the matter. Unfortunately, I wasn’t big on leaving myself links to source material back then. Should be easy enough to re-create though:
- Right okay, so this makes sense. Apparently the Emperor Constantine had a love of blending together traditions for the purposes of unity. He intentionally fudge the edges of Christianity, Mithraism, and the cult of Sol Invictus. Which was a sun worshipping cult. So he moved the day of the mass from Saturday (Saturn’s Day – the Jewish Sabbath – see the 6 pointed star discussion) to Sunday, which was the day of the sun. And he moved Christ’s birthday from January 6th (epiphany) to December 25th (the solstice – roughly) to please the other cults, and to meld them.
I also left myself a note to look into connecting the Green Lantern to St Patrick, which is funny, cause I make special note that it’s based solely on their sharing the color green as an attribute.
And also a link to a thing about how Moses and Akhenaton were the same person.
