I’ve just been implicated in a plot to have a super fun next couple weeks. Tentatively, my plans are to go out to Long Island and see my family starting Wednesday after work. Theoretically, my brother and I will then be driving to Worcester, MA (our birthplace) to see my aunt, and to get a few last things from the ancestral home before it is sold. From there, my brother has agreed to drive me to Baltimore on Sunday, whereupon I will meet with a merry band of adventurers whose sole purpose is to drive to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, to a beach house which they rented. Where I would (in theory) spend the week, and celebrate New Years. At which point, I will be shuttled back to Baltimore, and from there figure out some kind of trip back to NYC.
All told I would miss 7 days of work, which I am scrambling to make up at home, doing some extended super-human data entry jam sessions. The only hitches in my plan: (1) in order to catch a ride from Baltimore to NC, I’m told that I would need to get to Balto by noon. This is doable, but would set us at a leave time Sunday morning of 5:30am or so. Which is fine with me, but I gotta clear that with my bro. (2) The money thing. (3) A friend of mine will be visiting from Chicago from Dec 29, until the 5th, which is the following Monday (and my birthday). I want to make sure that I’m able to see her for a couple days. (4) I’ll have to shuffle when I’m gonna hang out with my friend Nick who is also in town for a little while.
Anyway, yeah, I’m just trying to work all this zaniness out… It’s going to happen, and it’s going to be super fun. Any which way.
