News stuff
I like this whole thing that Brazil started doing in retaliation of the US forcing (some) foreign visitors to be photographed and fingerprinted. Brazil is now requiring all Americans entering to be fingerprinted as well. Good for them. It’s also nice how they are giving out roses and souvenir t-shirts and stuff to the Americans who they are fingerprinting, to show them there’s no hard feelings. Excellent work all around.
This next article is worth quoting in its entirety:
- NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Police in northern India are being paid an extra 65 cents a month to grow a mustache to give them more authority, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Mayank Jain, a superintendent with the Madhya Pradesh state police, told The Asian Age that research showed that police with mustaches were taken more seriously.
However, he added, the shape and style of police mustaches would be monitored to ensure they did not take on a mean look.
Also, it seems that some guy in Argentina jumped into a lion pen at a zoo, and egged on one of the lion’s, having a sort of bullfight with it, until it charged him. But he didn’t really get hurt is the weird part. There are some weird photos to go along with that one, of the lion sitting on the guy.
