Also, I bet you didn’t know that if a virgin is raped, according to the Bible, she is supposed to marry her rapist, and they cannot get divorced. I suppose the theory has something to do with keeping the male accountable… but actually, I bet the reasoning was more like since he was the one to “spoil” her, thereby de-valuing her as a tradable commodity, then he had to assume responsibility for her, as a way of compensating her family for their loss. Damn, I bet that’s really what it meant…
