Well, yeah, you might die if you use it

I can’t believe it. Tonight I saw an ad for a pill on TV which actually listed death as one of it’s side effects. And they actually came right out and said that death is more likely for African-American users. They came right out and SAID it! Right on TV! like it was NOTHING!

THAT’S TOTALLY FUCKED UP! HOW CAN THEY KEEP THAT ON THE MARKET IF ITS SO BAD THEY HAVE TO WARN YOU?!

Here’s a thing on WebMD about it, although it’s anything but informative. Apparently the FDA is requiring that GlaxoSmithKline, the makers of Advair and some other shit in the commercial put labels on that say these products present “…a small but significant increased risk of life-threatening asthma attacks or asthma-related deaths”.

It’s like, “Oh God! Thank Jesus that we have the FDA to protect us with these stern warning labels! Now, nobody will ever suffer or die because of corporate greed and the zest for over-medication that runs rampant in our country!”

And how is it that something which increases your chances of death can be called a medicine?
