I had a strange dream this morning, just before I got up for work, in the span of 10 minutes between two alarm rings. I was in the back of a helicopter with some girl who put a mouse in her mouth, and we were flying over swampy wilderness type area. Apparently, you had to eat a mouse or part of a mouse in order to get past some kind of magical/ritual barrier to wherever we were going. Somehow, eating a mouse ensured your safe passage. I think it had especially to do with the tail.
Once we got there, I was introduced to a race of tiny things, which were called “The Gos.” They looked a lot like this tiny African primate called a bush baby. If you were nice to them and rubbed their noses, they would say “Hi!” and start talking to you.
Then there was a tiny person who was telling me a story from ancient pre-history. But he was telling it in such a way as to try to get me to remember it, cause I had already heard it before. It involved this ancient tiny race, the Gos, or their ancestors, and an ancient human king. Apparently the Gos had kept their existence secret from humans for some time, but were being attacked or wiped out by some other race or force or disease or something. So they revealed themselves to the humans, and asked their king for help. The king was happy to help, and gave them a common implement which humans use, but that was foreign to the Gos. It helped them turn the tide against whatever was threatening them, and since that time, their had been an alliance between the two peoples.
Also the little tiny person and I were talking about some ancient crystal palace that the Gos had, or had built or something. It was awesome.
WHOA! Holy shit! I just read that the native name for bush babies was “galagos.” Just like “Gos”. Holy shit! I gotta look and see if there’s any mythology surrounding these creatures. That’s an astounding coincidence, with the names. Maybe I had some kind of weird dream revelation, or tapped into some weird ancient legends… Fuck, I looked ALL over & can’t find anything. I wonder if they’ll be in my animal mythology book at home?
