I don’t know why this wasn’t huge news… oh wait. Yes, I do know why. It’s because drug companies have enough money and friends to downplay the impact of this in the media. The FDA has issued a warning and requested that drug companies change their labelling to indicate that pretty much all of the major anti-depressants can and do induce “worsening depression or suicidal thoughts”. Plus, there are these other side-symptoms:

- Anxiety
- Agitation
- Panic attacks
- Insomnia
- Irritability
- Hostility
- Impulsivity
- Severe restlessness
- Mania in both adults and children being treated with antidepressants for major depression

And the drugs involved in all this bullshit are:

- Prozac (also sold generically as fluoxetine)
- Zoloft
- Paxil
- Luvox
- Celexa
- Lexapro
- Wellbutrin
- Effexor
- Serzone
- Remeron

To me, really, the most startling thing about this is that its an actual bona fide FDA warning. It’s not some namby-pamby group of whiners. This is the government - people who are pretty much in bed with these big medical companies to begin with. So you know this shit is pretty fucking serious, folks.
