I just got this angry letter from somebody, through my website:

I just wanted to tell you that it’s people like you who keep people from comin to jesus. You need serous help!!!!!!!

My first instinct, of course, was to respond with biting sarcasm - but what’s the point. Instead, I offered this response, which I think is fair & balanced:

hi. thanks for your note. i appreciate hearing from you, although i’m not sure i know what you’re talking about or why you decided to lash out in anger at me. especially since you don’t really even know me at all. its troubling that such random hostility would come from someone who claims to serve the cause of christ.

Hopefully they’ll explain themselves in a little more detail… In any event, I think it’s preposterous to suggest that I stand between anyone and them getting closer to Christ. Or for that matter, I don’t really believe I’m impeding anyone from doing anything. That’s not at all what this is about. In fact, I hope it to be quite the opposite - giving people alternate paths to get to the places they’re going.
