This is an especially weird item from sports news, which I usually don’t check. But this one caught my eye. Apparently the University of New Mexico is considering using a live wolf as their football mascot. This seems like a terrible idea for so many reasons. Apparently, a ways back, one of their players was bit by the wolf after missing a pass and rolling out of bounds.
- Mathis wasn’t hurt, but he was quoted as saying at the time, “He sure scared me. I’ve got tooth marks in my pants.”
And in an unrelated story, a dog swallowed 28 golf balls and was fine.
