Jesus as an incarnation of Vishnu

I was just thinking yesterday or something about how Jesus might be considered as an incarnation of Vishnu, the second person in the Hindu trinity. I want to look into this more, but apparently there has already been considerable conjecture between the lives of Jesus and Krishna, who was an incarnation of Vishnu. I think I have heard about this before, but never delved into it very deeply. I’d like to do so though. In fact, there’s a ton of stuff in Christianity which seems like it was wholly lifted from different aspects of Hinduism, with Hinduism retaining a much broader spectrum of beliefs within it. Which is part of what makes Hinduism so interesting.

Also, a link with some basic info about how the story of Jesus was lifted from other pagan/non-Christian sources.

Anyway, more on this later. Maybe sometime soon I will try and get this internet hooked up in my room downstairs as well, so I can do some more in depth research, instead of this sort of hodge-podge here-and-there-ing which I have been doing from my brother’s computer upstairs.

Bingo! Here is a much better article about avatars in Christianity and Vaishnava Hinduism.
