Tonight at Sanctuary
Today was kind of a wash, because I spent the key work hours out and about trying to buy a new monitor. I was gonna get an LCD one, but none of the ones I looked at in three stores passed all my stringent requirements of (1) image quality (2) resolution (3) low price. The only acceptable LCD’s I saw were in the $900 range, and “homey don’t play that” as they say. Well, nobody really says that any more, I realize. But whatever. In the end, I opted for the $200 Samsung SyncMaster, the 19 inch monster. It’s a nice quality and stuff, but it’s just so fucking tremendously large and heavy. And I’ve been thinking a bit more lately about all the radiation that I’m probably getting from monitor and computer exposure over the years. It’s probably really bad and dangerous, thanks to the sheer number of hours. But oh well. Some day I’ll just develop a horrible brain tumor and die a painful death, and that will be that… at least until I can afford to get a really fancy - and presumably safer - LCD monitor. I can already feel my head hurting from this beastly monitor I just got….
Tonight we just meant to go out for some mild drinking. It was pretty fun. We got started before we left with some mixed drinks, and then hit up a remarkably retarded bar for assholes called Deja Vu. With a name like that it has to rule, right? Wrong. Shit! Total shit! There was one really cute waitress there though, but whatever. Then our “posse” moseyed down the street to a dance-club called “Sanctuary“. Which was pretty fun, although the music fucking blew. Terrible, undanceable garbage. Some time soon, once I get a couple more pittsburgh clubs under my belt, I’m gonna put together a “Pittsburgh Club Review” so that everyone can see exactly what I’m seeing, but in an internet review sort of forum. Should be pretty fun.
Tomorrow its back to work for a while on my brother’s website, then out for a more serious night of dancing possibly with more people. Sunday its more kayaking over in Saltsburg, unless there’s horrifying thunderstorms, which there is a great chance that there will be. Since there has been almost every night I’ve been here, it seems like.
