Club weather reports

The other night, I had a semi-good idea for a website. Basically, it would be like a Weather Channel, but for clubs. So that before you go out for the night, you can get the scoop on which clubs are bumpin’ and which are totally dumpin’. Cause there’s nothing worse than paying a cover & stepping into a club only to find out that you’ve been completely duped. And now you’re all pissed, because you don’t want to have to pay the cover at some other place, and who knows if that sucks. Conceivably, you could go around and ask people on the streets where the hotness is, but most people probably don’t do that.

Anyway, my idea was to put together a website with like a list of clubs in a city. It would be easy here, cause there’s really only a handful of clubs. Then, you have people text in like “weather reports” at these clubs. They could be sorted and tallied somehow, and you could just have like a list of top-ranked clubs for the night. Plus a little map or something. And you could also do some shit where your system automatically sends out once-nightly stats of clubs to people who sign up for it, on their phone or what-have-you.

Yeah, might be sorta neat. We have a friend here who wants to get a club promotions business running. Might be a good service to have running in order to draw in people to that business. Anyway, yeah. That’s my idea. I haven’t really seen anything like that online. Who knows if it would really even work. Probably would be hard to get people to text in reviews.

Actually, maybe if you did it more like American Idol, where you text in “votes” rather than reviews. Blah blah blah…
