Upgrades, schmupgrades

Well, I finally purchased an upgraded hosting package for my site to accomodate all the new traffic over the past few months. Unless visitation increases by 20 times, we should be all right, and shouldn’t get bumped offline anymore. Keep your fingers crossed.

Also, I get a bunch of new features, like PHP and MySQL, which will let me do a whole variety of cool new organizational and content-related stuff, which nobody else will probably even care about.

And, I think they already have Movable Type set up on the server, so there’s a decent chance I might just switch over to that, instead of all this Bloggerishness. Movable Type has some great features that blogger doesn’t, so I’m excited about that. Like being able to put posts into categories might be fun. Although doing it retro-actively will be a huge pain in the ass, I’m sure.

So anyway, expect a lot of subtle changes over the next few weeks as I take this new hosting out on the open road and see what it can do…
