An okay article detailing some of the more famous of Zeus’s sexual exploits.

Personally, I’d like to see a complete genealogical chart of all the different offspring that he fathered. There’s a chart here of the Olympian gods genealogy, but it’s a bit hard to follow.

Oh wait, here we go, a page called “the Loves of Zeus“. (These last couple links come from a site called Theoi.com, which is really excellent.) HOLY CRAP!! That list is the absolute motherlode! It is seriously so long and ridiculous. I’m not gonna count, but based on this, I’m guessing he was responsible for fathering close to 200 gods, demi-gods and mortals.

Hm, maybe that’s an exaggeration, but the page is really long. Here’s another general information page about Zeus which includes also a list of his consorts and children.

One more link which may be worthwhile, a goddess-based history of religious sex. One thing I wanted to pull in here which I had read recently is about Tiresias, and how he claimed that women experience far greater sexual pleasure than men:

One of the most famous prophets and seers of ancient time, Teiresias, was a man who was changed into a woman and served in the temples as a priestess for seven years to gain the feminine powers of insight and divination. During this time as a woman he gave birth to a daughter before being turned back into a man. It was Teiresias who gave us the “scale of one to ten.” Myth has it that Zeus and Hera once argued who had the most pleasure in sex. Zeus said it was the woman, while Hera asserted it was the man. They agreed that Teiresias should judge who was right. He did not hesitate to tell the God and Goddess, “Measured on the scale of pleasure, in the act of sex man has one measure to woman’s nine.” Hera became incensed by this, stating that judges, like referees in sporting events are all blind, and made Teiresias blind.
