Aquarius in the Ninth
The other day, I was talking with Fishfry about astrological something or other, and she pointed out that I have my ninth house starting in Aquarius, which she thought was noteworthy.
In a nutshell, the ninth house is all about philosophy, religion & law. A more expanded summary of the ninth house might be one gleaned from one of the following:
- how you seek the meaning & purpose of Life through: philosophy, religion, higher learning, spirituality, mysticism, inner vision, journeys of the mind, psychic attunement, taking the long view, seeing history and the present from a higher perspective, a sense of humour, observing and connecting widely-divergent ideas and opinions; how you learn about life and its diversity through: study of foreign ideas or foreign cultures or religions, travelling to foreign lands, encounters with foreign people and their differring viewpoints, tolerance of foreign races, cultures, religions, or traditions.
Or…
- The ninth house is where we search for truth: experiences that broaden the mind and help us form our philosophy of life. Here we expand our consciousness, synthesize meaning from facts and experience, adjust personal attitudes to collective ideas, and understand how things are integrated into systems.
Honestly, I had no idea that there was a part of your astrological chart that talked about that stuff. But goddamn, does all that stuff ever make sense when you put it all together like that and look at my life right now.
Technically, I don’t have any planets in this house, but since it does show up in the sign of Aquarius, that’s at least significant. Here are some of the facets of Aquarius, which I think apply here:
- …These folks are humanitarian, philanthropic and keenly interested in making the world a better place. Along those lines, they’d like to make the world work better, which is why they focus much of their energy on our social institutions and how they work (or don’t work). Aquarians are visionaries, progressive souls who love to spend time thinking about how things can be better. They are also quick to engage others in this process…
Aquarians shower the world with their thoughts and new ideas. Luckily for Aquarians (and the rest of us), they are at a near-genius level, so their minds churn out some amazing things. Their thought process is also inventive and original. While Aquarians are happy to bestow these ideas as a gift with no strings attached, they are much happier when the rest of the world agrees with them.
More stuff which is specifically about Aquarius happening in the ninth house:
- The influence of Aquarius in the ninth house shows one who is progressive, unusual, and freethinking in matters of philosophy, education, and religion. Some of your friends may be involved in these areas of endeavor and you enjoy exchanging ideas with them. Your scientific outlook prompts you to rebel against many orthodox dogmas and you like to expound on your beliefs. You like to travel to break out of the pattern that was established for you in your early life. Much of the way you view life is modern and sometimes even advanced.
Actually, this one’s even better:
- Some of the most philosophically advanced thinkers of all time have had Aquarius strongly placed in their Ninth House. The Aquarius influence leaves no stone unturned in its pursuit of philosophical truths. There is abundant potential for the study of psychic and occult matters. Once more, the native may make some significant contributions to these areas.
Anyway, alright…
