Independence Day
I just thought of something, after mentioning how I would be most-likely spending the 4th of July thankfully in another country… This whole idea of celebrating our nation’s independence.
I would like to up-end the whole holiday, and re-configure it, so that it celebrates my independence from America instead. So that it celebrates and reclaims my own personal autonomy and authority over myself and my life. A day where I can revel in my distance from all the evil fucked up shit that’s going on in this country. And all the shit that’s done in my name or for my “sake”, but which has nothing at all to do with me or who I am. Or who I will ever be.
A declaration of MY independence. And of my consciousness. A day where I can symbolically separate myself from all the obese brain-washed drug-addled propagandized boot-licking masses. A day where I can send a psychic bomb to blow up all the psychological control stations and throw all that fucking tea they’re trying to push on us back into the harbor.

Anyway, I think this a great thing to be thinking about while you scarf down hotdogs of personal autonomy and light fire-crackers of consciousness in your backyards next week. Not our nation’s “independence” (and by that, I mean, of course, imperialistic hegemony), but our own.
