Two fucked up ass things I’ve heard from conservative media personalities this weekend:
My brother told me about how this conservative radio jockey in Pittsburgh, the dude from the radio show “Quinn in the Morning,” said something about the occupation of Iraq, which was (paraphrased) “If we can’t fix their culture, then we should kill them all.”
Just caught me a delicious bite off Fox News’ asshole commentator Mark Hyman. He was trying to criticize John Kerry’s Senate voting record on terrorism, using items from 1985 to portray him as soft on terror. In an inexplicable side-note, he raised the following argument: that Kerry voted against a Reagan initiative which would have exempted American soldiers from being prosecuted for genocide under the World Court.
This dude actually tried to make Kerry look bad by showing that Kerry thinks Americans should be accountable for their war crimes. He said something dastardly-sounding about how “Kerry believes that the World Court should be above the American courts.”
Actually, on a related note, I read last week that the rules prohibiting prosecution of Americans for war crimes ran out and WAS NOT renewed in the United Nations. However, the US has individual treaties with 89 countries, which disallow them from bringing American soldiers to trial for war crimes.
