The American Dream
I’ve been continuing my train of thought, about how Canada is more intellectual as a culture than the US. Some people might argue this, and I’d like them to, cause as I said, I’m basing my observations on only a few days in only one city.
So, I was thinking about the “American Dream.” And how whatever that Dream refers to is not important. But what is important, is the fact that we’re totally and utterly consumed by our dreams in America. We chase after them relentlessly, whatever they are. And that’s a very intuitive emotional thing for us. It comes out in all kinds of places, this huge power given to fantasy. Whether its the fantasies created by the news media & govt, or by movies and tv shows. And it shows up in places like celebrity worship, and shit like that.
