Some weird news

A little sampling of the latest from my weird news sources:

  • A man in India was arrested for sacrificing his wife to Kali, and eating her tongue
  • Schoolchildren in Osaka, Japan are going to be RFID tagged, as are kids in Denmark’s Legoland theme park, and Delta is going to start RFID-tracking luggage to cut down on losses
  • Syracuse is hit by a string of odd sex crimes
  • Pelicans in Arizona have been mistaking hazy asphalt for lakes, landing on it as though it were water and hurting themselves.
  • An irritating new advertising trend, where models wear flat-screen tv’s on their chest, and accost you in public places to watch commercials.
  • A town in Kenya had more than 500 of its pigs killed, because they were supposedly having sex with stray dogs
  • Scientists discover a possible pattern to why whales beach themselves.
  • James Caviezel, the actor who played Jesus in the Passion of the Christ keeps getting mistaken for the real Jesus, when he goes places like poor regions of Mexico. He states:
“It was a shock for me to see how they came up to me to ask for my help. I had to explain to them that I was only an actor, and wasn’t really the son of God.”
