Anarchy in the UK
I just saw the most flagrantly bullshit thing I’ve ever seen on TV. Well, at least since the last time I watched TV.
Anyway, some woman around Pittsburgh had an American flag hanging outside her house to support her son in Iraq, and somebody had spray-painted a big anarchist letter A on it, you know the kind in the circle.
The news guy actually said “Police think the vandals meant to paint a peace sign on the flag, but didn’t finish.”
WHAAT?? Peace signs and anarchist-A’s look totally different. Fucking lunacy! Here: look for yourself: [Anarchy Symbol] & [Peace Symbol]
Is this just a case of stupid local cops? It seems to me, that even stupid local cops would be very familiar with spray-painted symbols from rowdy teenagers, from anarchist-A’s to upside-down pentagrams, to pot leaves, to you name it.
I’m more inclined to think that this is some weird Orwellian example of trying to eliminate symbols and their concepts from common vocabulary.
