Dream Names
I tried keeping track of all my dreams and everything last night, but I wasn’t so successful as I was the night before. It turns out that it’s a lot of work and concentration, and sometimes it’s easier just to sleep.
In any event, I noticed that in the few notes I did make, before giving up, that three different names had been mentioned in hypnagogic visions. They were:
Doumonisus - I did my usual trick of checking this on Google, and didn’t see any results with that spelling of it. My notes are unclear as to what this name refers to. Possibly something to do with “knives” or “exaggerators.”
Eusebius - This time, my Google search revealed that this was a real person, Eusebius of Caesarea. He had something to do with developing or codifying the Canon in the early Church. In my dream notes, all I had written was “Just being grateful - Eusebius.” Don’t know what that means. (Also, I have to ask the obvious question of why would the name of an obscure Church father pop into my head spontaneously? It reminds me more than a little of what happened to Philip K. Dick…)
David Waxman - Since this is a more common name, there are many references to it online. Two of the top ones are a biologist and a DJ. In my notes, I had written, “The widow looked over at me and said, ‘I guess I’m David Waxman, now.” At the time, I understood this to mean, that whoever David Waxman was, he had died, and she was to assume his role or position, or something. Maybe, since she was a widow, this was her husband.
Other than that, I had a couple other interesting notes. One of which was “Matrilineal succession, all the way down to the 13 brothers.” I wish I knew what that meant, cause it sounds cool.
Also, the first one written down was a phrase somebody said to me in a dream, I think: “He claims that by their shunt they do.” And that dream turned into something having to do with knives and stitches and exaggeration. After that dream is when I had the Doumonisus vision… I wonder if I tried varying the spelling on that name, if there’d be any results?
