Money money money money



Like a lot of people, I’ve been considering for a while possible ways to make money off my website. It’s doing pretty well now, both content-wise, and visitor-wise, so it’d be nice if it could at least pay for itself. Or maybe even better. Right now, I am the 5th or 6th result for just the word “Occult,” so that must mean I am doing something right…

I did a bit of reading tonight on various options for bloggers to make money, and came across the following articles and links, which were halfway decent.

  • Blogging for dollars (Good)
  • How to generate revenue from your weblog (Very basic)
  • Blogs are a great advertising environment (Good)
  • Company called BlogAds that acts as a middle-man between bloggers and advertisers
  • Google’s AdSense program can earn you some money, but it’s hard to be approved if you have a personal site
  • Making Sense of AdSense
  • How to make money with your blog

    Anyway, those are the best ones I’ve found. Although, after reading through all them and familiarizing myself with various options, I don’t really feel like I’m any closer to really implementing any of these options. Part of the thing that’s a bitch about these is that you start to spend time working on and thinking about making money off what you’re doing, rather than actually just doing what it is you’re doing. Right now, it seems more important to me to just keep doing and building, and then worry about money later on, once the whole thing snowballs a bit more…
