Burning Man & the River of Dreams

I had some rather elaborate dreams last night, which I didn’t record in great detail. I’m finding that it’s a lot of work to try and record them constantly, so I’m being a little more intermittent about the whole thing. Some things I did track though:

  • Hypnagogic vision before falling asleep. I see two men in a warehouse at night, wearing hats and trenchcoats. They are making some kind of deal. I only see them from like the waist up. They walk out of the room. My perspective shifts so that it’s a 3/4 overhead view, and I see a man laying dead on a metal table in this room in a warehouse. Suddenly, the floor to the left of him catches fire. The fire begins to spread immediately in a sort of ring around where he is laying.
  • Another hypnagogic happening, before falling asleep. I am laying on my back on a raft, which is going through various tunnels, and rooms and things. Sort of like at an amusement park. At some point, there is a hint of something, and a redness in the air, which makes me believe I am on the planet Mars. I see beings there, who are silvery white, who look like that Anasazi mythological figure, Kokopelli. Things change, and I hear the words spoken:
      Skin is just an interview
  • A rather elaborate but now confusing dream before waking, about three girls and I who go to some kind of water sports center. It’s in this huge building complex, and they have like indoor boating and pools and man-made rivers and stuff. There is this one room, a media center, where a guy is laying on an enormous bed, watching a documentary about Pacific Explorers. Except, they are not like exploring islands, these are men who were exploring the ocean itself. I remember sitting and watching this movie for a little while, before getting bored and restless. There were lots of scenes where you saw the feet of scuba divers sticking out of the ocean surface. There was also another big part of this dream where we were trying to find life jackets which fit us. And then we got on some strange boat, which is super hard to describe. It almost had like this “scoop” in front, where two paddlers sat, and then this pilots seat in the back. I’ve never seen a boat like it. We launched it in this pool area, and went down this artificial river, which later turned into a semi-jungle, which was both real and not real at the same time. At some point in the trip, there was a man with a rifle who murdered somebody, and we were fleeing from him. When we got back to the desk at the center, we tried to tell people about it, but they didnt believe us. That is, until they found the murder victims truck in the water.

There were other ones too, but that’s all I remember right now.
