The so-called “independent Iraqi government” has kicked Al-Jazeera news station out of its Baghdad office.
Supposedly, in the late fifties, the US Air Force was trying to push forward a plan to detonate a nuclear bomb on the moon as a show of force.
Hm, I never heard anybody mention this possibility before: that if the draft is reinstated, go and get yourself one of them thar gay marriages, since they don’t want no queers in their military. Myself, I’ll probably enter some kind of ministerial school if/when Bush is re-elected [illegally again, of course] and a draft is instituted.
A report my brother heard on the news said that the Republican National Convention was going to get prime-time air coverage on a major network. Whereas, if you recall, the DNC only got PBS. Slanted, you say? I wonder why? Hmmmm… also, he said that supposedly some pro football games were being postponed so they wouldn’t interfere with television coverage of the convention. How convenient.
I started reading Alan Moore’s V for Vendetta, on loan from my brother. So far it’s alright. It’s very much in that dark comics style of the 80’s. I more wanted to read Watchmen, but he couldn’t locate his copy.
UPDATE!
Finished V for Vendetta. Good stuff. The main character is loosely based on Guy Fawkes, who I don’t know too much about, other than that he tried to blow up Parliament, and there’s some British holiday where people light bonfires and burn effigies of him. Sounds like its worth learning more about.
